Was sitting outside in the backyard this afternoon with none other then my most favorite person. My mom. We decided to take advantage of the new outdoor living room furniture my dad put together for us...
We were talking about relationships and life. She said, "I never had so many relationships...I dated here and there, but never dated like my children do...Daddy was the one for me...I just knew."
Back in the day it seems, love just came and it stuck--and it worked.
My parents have been together for 50 years or so--44 of those years are married years...She said to me, "You deserve the best...and your time will soon come."
If only I will be so lucky to find something half as wonderful as my parents love affair. A lifetime of joy, caring and laughter. A lifetime of travel, affection and true love. A lifetime of holding hands and going to bed and waking up in the morning saying I love you. For 50 years!
